Laser cutting system for large parts up to 2500 mm in length

That was the assignment.
Construction of a large laser cutting system for precision cuts up to 2500 mm long and 500 mm wide for universal use in the service sector.

And this is how we solved it.
A pulsed fiber laser with 450 W average power and 4500 pulses, along with high beam quality (50 µm multimode fiber optic cable), was chosen as the laser source. This allows for the laser to laser even the finest contours from 0.05 mm to 5 mm wall thickness.

The X and Y axes are driven by linear motors and positioned by high-resolution measuring systems. The dynamic range is approximately 1 g acceleration in the axes' motion. Contour accuracy of 20 µm and better is achieved throughout the entire machining area.

The processing head of the laser cutting system is moved over the workpiece at a preset distance from the nozzle using a capacitive distance sensor system, producing consistently high cutting quality.

All metallic materials and selected technical ceramics can be processed with the system.

In this configuration, the fine blanking system offers a unique selling point for universal machining applications and provides new possibilities for precision cutting large-format workpieces.
